At Nevis Animal Speak, we believe excellent medicine and resource constrained communities can coexist.
We believe in work–life balance, meaningful impact, and practicing thoughtful medicine in a setting where your surgical skills and client communication skills truly matter. Our island offers ocean swims before work, peaceful evenings, and a close-knit community — while our clinic offers purpose-driven, hands-on medicine.
We are seeking an experienced locum small animal veterinarian to support our established charity clinic for 1–3 months.
This is high-impact, resource-aware medicine in a community where access to care is limited and every case counts.

We couldn't do what we do without support from our Locums and volunteers!
Founded in 2019, Nevis Animal Speak is a registered charity veterinary clinic (501c3) serving both homed and stray animals in St. Kitts & Nevis.

We provide but are not limited to:
You will be stepping into an established in-house team that manages front office flow, general client communications, patient intake, and daily operational structure — allowing you to focus primarily on medicine and surgery.
We have:
*Large reception area
* 2 exam rooms
* Main treatment area
* VetRay DR Xray
* Surgical suite with oxygen concentrators, anesthesia, oxygen tent, vitals monitoring
AND MORE!
Candidates must be comfortable:
This role requires confident surgical leadership and the ability to guide cases clearly, but you will not be operating without infrastructure. Our systems are in place — we need your clinical strength.
We are seeking a veterinarian with surgical experience who is confident operating independently in a resource-constrained environment.
** Dentals (we have a dental unit) but not required.
** Orthopedics welcomed but not required (limited specialty equipment available).
Island dogs tend to heal differently.
We frequently see cases that in higher-resource settings might be euthanized.
We do not perform elective euthanasia.
Fractures once thought to require amputation often regain 80–90% function with conservative management.
We need a veterinarian who:
